The Library would like to express our deepest congratulations to Prof. Lo Wai-luen, who was honored with a Life Achievement Award at the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2015 ceremony held on April 21, 2016. Professor Lo was commended by the Chief Executive of HKSAR, Mr. CY Leung “for the considerable impact she had made on our literary education over more than 40 years. Among her many contributions, Professor Lo worked with the library of The Chinese University of Hong Kong to establish the Hong Kong Literature Database, providing valuable historical materials for the literary arts sectors”.

Prof. Lo has donated over 20,000 items including newspapers, journals, books, leaflets and artifacts for the past 15 years to establish CUHK Library’s Hong Kong Literature Collection and Hong Kong Literature Database. Her dedication to local literature and culture has made a significant contribution to Hong Kong as well as the CUHK community.
