Retired Members & Spouses Library Card

Retired members of CUHK and their spouses may apply for a borrower’s card at a charge of $55.  The card will be valid for three years. Please note that all Library Card holders must abide by any CUHK campus access measures/restrictions, including any infection control measures, when using the Library Card. Please also note that once a Library Card is issued, the Library may share the personal data of the library card holder with the University when and as requested.

To apply, Retired Members must bring along the Employment Certification issued by the Human Resources Office on request for retirees (https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/retirees-area/information-for-retiring-employees) and a recent photo to the Service Counter of the University Library.

Spouse of a valid Retired Member Library Card holder may also apply for a Library card. To apply, the retired member, together with the spouse, may bring along the Retired Member Library Card and a recent passport photo to the Service Counter of the University Library. Retired members who have not yet obtained a Retired Member Library Card may also submit the application at the same time.

Digital Library Service for CUHK Retirees (Pilot Scheme)

Who May Apply

CUHK retired members of staff who are a valid CUHK Retired Member Library Card holder.

Subscription Fee

The subscription fee is HK$200 a year.

Application

Application may be made at the Service Counter of the University Library by presenting a valid CUHK Retired Member Library Card.

Applicants who have not got a CUHK Retired Member Library Card may apply at the same time by bringing along an Employment Certification issued by the Human Resources Office (https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/retirees-area/information-for-retiring-employees) and a recent passport photo.

Terms and Conditions of Use

The patrons may download or print a single copy of citation, abstracts, full text or portions that does not contain a significant segment of a database on a reasonable basis, thereof provided that information is used solely for personal, non-commercial use and may not be sold. Massive downloading in any kind is strictly prohibited. The patron will not use the information in any manner that will infringe the copyright. The patrons who violate this Terms and Conditions could be suspended from the Digital Library Service for CUHK Retirees permanently without any refund and are solely responsible for all the indemnity incurred.
