CUHK founded its Graduate School in 1966, the first in Hong Kong. In its early days, the School offered five master’s programmes. Since 1980, a large number of doctoral programmes have been established. Over the years, the School has trained and nurtured a great many scholars and professionals, fostering progress in academic research and higher education, as well as in the social development of Hong Kong.
