CUHK Data Hack 2025 Pre-hackathon Workshop

* This workshop ONLY opens to CUHK community who have registered to join the CUHK Data Hack 2025*

Instructor: Dr. Kwong-cheong WONG, Data Science and Policy Studies Programme, CUHK

Description:
Data needs to be processed appropriately before it can be effectively analyzed, making data preprocessing a crucial step in any data science project. The quality of data analysis depends significantly on the quality of the underlying data. This workshop takes a hands-on approach, utilizing the Python library Pandas to illustrate common data preprocessing steps, including detecting and handling missing values and outliers. Additionally, we will incorporate exploratory data analysis (EDA) techniques to help participants understand patterns, trends, and insights within their datasets. This workshop assumes basic Python coding skills and aims to equip attendees with the essential tools for preparing and exploring data for meaningful analysis.

Remark:
Participants are required to bring their device for hands-on practice.
