    CUHK Golden Jubilee Celestial Civilian Scholarship on Hong Kong Literature 2015/16 is now inviting applications from full-time CUHK students taking undergraduate or research postgraduate programmes. There will be two scholarships of HK$10,000 each. Applicants must submit a research paper / thesis / dissertation, written in either English or Chinese, on Hong Kong literature and related fields; and submit a statement of 500-800 words, written in either English or Chinese, on how they made use of the Hong Kong Literature Collection for their research paper / thesis / dissertation.

    The deadline for application is 30 June 2016. Selection results will be announced by August 2016. Detailed information and the application form can be downloaded from the website of Office of Admissions...

    To encourage and support paperless reading in mobile environment, New Asia College Ch’ien Mu Library will launch the Kindle E-book Reader Lending Service on 2 nd January 2016. It provides 50 Kindle e-books of classic and major titles from the General Education Collection. All CUHK Library borrower card holders can borrow the Kindle from the New Asia College Library for 7 days.

    The Library is pleased to announce the addition of the Professor Eric Lye Kum Chew Collection to the Architecture Library. The Collection is a generous donation to CUHK by Ms. Joan Leung Lye, architect and wife of the late Professor Eric Lye (1933-2003). It consists of over 300 books selected from the personal collection of Professor Lye covering a wide range of topics related to architecture, as well as other valuable materials such as his speeches from 1977 to 1999, architectural sketches and drawings.

    Professor Eric Lye Kum Chew, OBE FRAIC FHKIA Hon AIA (HK) Hon ARICS, was the Chair Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at The University of Hong Kong. He is regarded as a visionary architect and educator, inspiring generations of architects in Hong Kong....

    Building the new Digital Scholarship Lab

    Construction of the Library’s new Digital Scholarship Lab on the G/F of the University Library begins after exams. The site area located on the G/F of Tin Ka Ping Building will be fenced off for construction works from 13 December 2015 (Sunday) to 10 March 2016 (Thursday) . The lift on the G/F of TKP Building will be suspended. Users need to go upstairs (using other lifts or the stairs) to the 1/F for the lift to 2/F (H-HE classes book stacks) and the Law Library on 3/F and 4/F.

     香港中文大學金禧天庶獎學金頒授典禮於2015年11月5日在大學圖書館香港文學特藏圓滿舉行。典禮由圖書館館長李露絲女士致開幕詞,中國語言及文學系樊善標教授代表評委會致詞,並向本年度獎學金得主文化及宗教研究系博士生席藝洋頒發獎狀。香港中文大學香港文學研究中心顧問盧瑋鑾教授、冼為堅中國文化講座教授李歐梵教授亦應邀出席是次頒授典禮。

     本年度「香港中文大學金禧天庶獎學金」的獲獎人從香港文學特藏及香港文學資料庫考掘文獻,完成論文,取得優異的研究成果。獲獎論文 〈論香港南來文人的兩種「文化鄉愁」與「志異」關係——以二十世紀五、六十年代徐訏、劉以鬯到港後的文學活動為中心再思〉 已上載至香港文學資料庫香港中文大學金禧天庶獎學金專頁。
