Visiting Historical Sites of Japanese Occupation
A tour of St. Stephen’s College and Stanley Military Cemetery, guided by Mr. Wani Yukio and Ms. Lavender Cheung
St. Stephen’s College was turned into an emergency military hospital in 1941 and became an internment camp durung the Japanese occupation. Situated next to the college, the Stanley Military Cemetery was opened for the burial of those who were executed by the Japanese or who died while prisoners of war, including members of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps and British Army Aid Group. Mr. Wani Yukio will provide a two-hours guided tour of St. Stephen’s Collegethe Heritage Trail and the Stanley Military Cemetery.
