Formerly known as the Department of Extramural Studies, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies has been providing a wide range of programmes for citizens from all walks of life since 1965. The renaming of the department to the School of Continuing Studies in 1994 reflects the University’s support for and commitment to lifelong learning. Consonant with the government’s proposal to significantly increase the number of sub-degree places, the School has been operating higher diploma programmes since 2002. In 2006, the School was renamed School of Continuing and Professional Studies, which has been offering an enhanced curriculum to meet societal needs.
