Professor Yang Chen-Ning won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1957 for his significant contribution to particle physics with his theory of “parity non-conservation in weak interactions.” Professor Yang has a deep connection with the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Since being invited to give a lecture at CUHK in 1964, he has frequently visited the university for teaching and research, making outstanding contributions to the development of research and education at CUHK, particularly in the Department of Physics. In 1999, Professor Yang generously donated to CUHK many of his awards, articles, letter correspondences and manuscripts, including the Nobel Prize.
